Kuva Lichs & Sisters of Parvos

Overview

Kuva Liches and Sisters of Parvos are part of Warframe's Adversary system, a nemesis-like system with personalized boss-like enemies. Once an Adversary is created, they will attempt to influence the star chart, stealing resources and credits from your missions until they're defeated.

Each Adversary grows stronger over time, gaining new resistances, immunities, and abilities as they level up. They also command their own forces, which you'll need to fight to uncover their weaknesses.

Defeating your Adversary gives you the choice to execute them for their unique weapon or convert them into an ally. Either way, all stolen resources are returned to you.

Note: Once created, an Adversary cannot be removed without completing the hunt. If this is your first Lich or Sister, please read through the full guide before getting started!

Preparing for a Lich or Sister

Before creating your Adversary, you'll want to be well prepared.

Progression Requirements

  • Kuva Liches require completion of The War Within
  • Sisters of Parvos additionally require completion of the Call of the Tempestarii
  • Both require a Railjack with at least one Intrinsics class at rank 5 for the final showdown

Requiem Mods

To defeat your Adversary you'll need Requiem mods, which slot into your Parazon (accessible from the Arsenal) and are used to guess your Adversary's weakness. There are 8 standard Requiem mods and I recommend collecting one copy of each before starting your hunt.

Parazon

Note: There's also a wildcard mod called Oull that can substitute for any Requiem mod. It can be obtained by defeating an Adversary or purchased from other players for around 20 platinum on Warframe.market.

Requiem mods are earned by cracking Requiem Relics, which drop from Kuva Siphon and Kuva Flood missions on planets near the Kuva Fortress. Siphons have a 50% chance to reward a relic while Floods guarantee one. To crack them you'll need to run Requiem Fissures which function identically to Void Fissures but only show up on the Kuva Fortress.

Creating Your Adversary

Each Lich or Sister has two customizable aspects: their elemental progenitor and their weapon. The elemental progenitor is determined by the Warframe you're using when you spawn the Adversary. It affects:

  • The Adversary's abilities and resistances
  • The elemental bonus on their weapon
  • The potential ephemera they can spawn (20% chance)

Please see the Progenitor Element chart on the Warframe Wiki to find which Warframes correspond to each element.

When you down a potential Adversary, a weapon will appear above their head before you execute them. If you choose not to execute them, that weapon is temporarily removed from the pool until it resets. This means that in the worst case scenario, you can always guarantee the weapon you want by working through the full pool.

The pool resets occur when you create an Adversary by executing a Larvling or Candidate or when you exhaust all options.

Note: Adversaries can also be purchased from other players. Purchased Adversaries still need to be hunted down, but this can be a good way to obtain ephemeras or high bonus weapons without repeatedly farming Adversaries.

Kuva Liches

To spawn a Kuva Lich, jump into any Grineer mission above level 20. Cassini, Saturn is my recommendation since it's a simple, quick mission. At some point the lights in the mission will flash yellow. When they do, you have a minute to kill 10 or more enemies to spawn a Kuva Larvling (potential Kuva Lich). Currently there are 21 Kuva weapons available from Liches so cycling to find the weapon you like may take a while.

Sisters of Parvos

To spawn a Sister of Parvos, run any Corpus Ship tileset mission and complete the Granum Void using a Zenith Granum Crown. If you reach at least Rank 1 (25 kills solo or 50/75/100 for 2/3/4 players), a sister candidate will spawn within the next 1-3 minutes. Hydra, Pluto is recommended since the Treasurer in the mission drops a Zenith Granum Crown, allowing the mission to be self-sustaining.

There are currently 11 Tenet weapons available from Sisters. Five additional Tenet weapons can be obtained from Ergo Glast in exchange for Corrupted Holokeys.

Fighting your Adversary

Every Lich and Sister has a 3 mod Requiem combination that'll expose their weakness and lead to their defeat. Your goal is to battle through your Adversary's forces while slowly discovering this sequence.

Liches and Sisters start on Earth and Venus respectively, and controlled territory will be shown as a red or blue cloud surrounding nodes on the Star Chart. To begin hunting, select a node within controlled territory and choose the new mission option. These missions will spawn special elite units, Thralls (Lich) or Hounds (Sister) that you must take down. Using mercy finishers on these units reveals progress towards one of the three required Requiem mods.

As you clear controlled territory, your Lich or Sister will grow progressively angrier, increasing the chance of them appearing in subsequent missions. When they do appear, down them and you'll get the chance to stab (execute) them, testing whether the first mod in your Parazon matches their sequence. A correct guess lets you continue the fight and test the next mod. An incorrect guess causes the Adversary to level up, growing stronger and moving to another planet.

Note: Ideally, you do not want to stab without a plan since that increases the level and difficulty of the Adversary. If an adversary spawns before you're ready, down it 3 times without stabbing them and it will leave, preserving its high anger for subsequent missions on that planet.

For strategies on how to efficiently determine the correct sequence, please read the next section.

Stab Strategies

There are two main strategies that minimize the number of stabs needed to identify your Lich or Sister's Requiem sequence. Both follow the same core loop of:

  • Farming to discover the next Requiem
  • Stabbing to test the order
  • Adjusting the parazon mods based on the results

The Standard Strategy assumes you do not have the Oull mod and walks through the most reliable approach for a first hunt.

The Oull Strategy uses the Oull wildcard mod to skip farming for the third Requiem entirely, significantly cutting down the time needed to complete the hunt.

Flowcharts for both strategies can be found below.

Final Showdown

After successfully using your Adversary's Requiem sequence, they'll flee to the Proxima (Railjack) region of either Saturn (Liches) or Neptune (Sisters). As mentioned in the preparation section, you'll need a Railjack with one Intrinsics class at rank 5 to access the mission.

Note: Only players who have an Adversary at the final showdown stage can join this mission.

After defeating your Adversary for the final time, you'll get the option to convert or vanquish them.

Vanquishing is the common route since it's the only way to get the Adversary's weapon and the Sister's Hound.

Converting lets the Adversary randomly appear in missions to assist you or be used as Railjack defensive crew. Converted Adversaries can also be traded/sold to other players, typically due to a high progenitor bonus, ephemera, or a funny name or appearance.

Regardless of your choice you will always receive the Adversary's ephemera if they spawned with one.

Rewards

During the hunt correctly guessing the Requiem sequence has a 25% chance to drop an Oull

Upon completing the Final Showdown, you will receive:

  • All the loot that had been stolen by your Adversary
  • The Adversary's ephemera, if one spawned
  • 25% chance for a Requiem Ultimatum
  • (IF SISTER) Corrupted Holokeys and Hound Blueprints based on the number of party members

Additionally, if you vanquished the Adversary you will receive their:

  • Kuva/Tenet weapon with its progenitor bonus
  • (IF SISTER) Personal Hound

Kuva and Tenet weapons rank up to 30 initially but max out at 40. Each Forma applied to the weapon unlocks 2 additional levels, so you'll need 5 Forma in total per weapon to get all the potential mastery.

To change a weapon's progenitor bonus, see my guide on Valence Fusion. Additionally, after completing the Hex Quest, Eleanor sells Elemental Vices that are consumables that allow you to permanently freely change the element on any fully ranked Adversary weapon.
