Eidolon Hunting
Table of Contents
Overview
Eidolons are towering spectral fragments of a giant, shattered Sentient that once attacked Cetus. Eidolons serve as mid-late game mini bosses on the Plains of Eidolon and only spawn at night on the Plains.
There are 3 Eidolons you can fight: the Teralyst, Gantulyst, and Hydrolyst. The Teralyst will naturally appear at night, but the others will require a successful capture of the smaller version and summoning at the shrine on Gara Toht Lake, which commemorates the ancient battle. Killing or capturing an Eidolon will reward you with Warframe Arcanes, Eidolon shards, and numerous Sentient Cores
Guide Resources
Eidolon hunting is a complex and nuanced activity, and the community has spent years developing resources that go far beyond the scope of what this guide could provide. Rather than attempting to cover everything here, the following resources are recommended as further reading and viewing.
Note: Warframe regularly introduces new weapons, arcanes, and system changes that can shift the Eidolon meta. As community resources, these guides don't always reflect the latest optimizations, though their core content remains valid.
The Idalon website is a leaderboard that tracks the speedrun times for Eidolon clears. At the time of writing this guide (April 2026), they have posted an associated guide that is still a work in progress. At the moment it is still being updated and covers a lot of valuable information for beginner and expert Eidolon hunters.
Brozime's Full Solo Tridolon Guide
A casual solo Tridolon run covering core tips and tricks without focusing on min-maxing or hyper-optimized strategies. While I personally recommend hunting in groups, this video demonstrates that casual solo hunting is fully possible.
Jacsonitos's Solo Eidolon Hunting Build
A more optimization-focused video aimed at players looking to push toward 6x3 runs. This is a potentially useful watch for players already comfortable with Eidolon hunts.
