Primes, Vaulting, & Resurgence

Overview
Primes are Orokin-era variants of standard Warframes and weapons, offering improved stats across the board. Prime Warframes generally offer improved defensive stats and extra polarities while Prime weapons offer better damage and overall performance.
Primes are obtained by cracking open Void Relics in Void Fissure missions, and collecting all the parts for a Prime allows you to build it in your Foundry.

Vaulting Explained
As Digital Extremes (DE) releases new Primes, older ones get "vaulted." This means their relics are removed from the mission drop pool, making them no longer obtainable through normal play. Any relics you already own are unaffected and can still be opened or traded.
DE introduced vaulting to prevent drop pools from becoming too bloated. Without it, each new Prime release would dilute the drop pool further, making individual pieces harder to obtain.
Vaulting keeps the active pool manageable and thus keeps drop rates reasonable. At any given time, the 7 most recently released Primes plus Nyx and Valkyr, who are permanently unvaulted, are available in mission drop pools. When a new Prime is released, the oldest of the 7 gets vaulted along with its weapons.
Obtaining Vaulted Primes
The primary way to obtain vaulted primes is through Prime Resurgence, run by Varzia, a former Dax soldier. You can find her in Maroo's Bazaar on Mars or through the Prime Resurgence tab in the in-game Market.
Varzia offers two things:
- Vaulted relics and cosmetics purchased with Aya, a farmable currency
- Fully built Primes and Prime Accessories purchased with Regal Aya, an untradeable premium currency
Two Prime Warframes rotate through her shop roughly every 30 days, and additional Primes may be added during special events.
Since vaulted relics are harder to come by, we recommend refining them to Radiant and running radshares to maximize your chances on the drops you need.
Note: Vaulted relics can also be traded between players, and generally 6 relics go for 12-30 platinum depending on the relic and the rarity of the prime parts inside.
Farming Aya
There are two main approaches to farming Aya:
- Active farming - Tier 5 Bounties at the Necralisk, Deimos or on Cetus, Earth have a good chance to give Aya.
- Passive farming - Relic packs, which can be purchased from syndicates, can contain Aya instead of a relic.
